Trying out Kit Cat 150g today and more about Fur/Ball

I ordered Kit Cat 70g/80g (which was a huge success yesterday), 150g (trying out today) and 400g (not tried yet).

Actually, I did not even know that Kit Cat had cat food in Malaysia. I thought it was only the cat litter. By the time I found out, the importer is already discontinuing Kit Cat 150 (all broth only) and keeping 70g/80g and 400g (contains jelly except for 4 flavours). Apparently, the broth versions don’t sell well. They had to make a business decision.

It’s also difficult to find out if the jelly is guar gum (safe for cats) or carrageenan (questionable).

Anyway, I’m exploring different brands because of Tabs (the expected inappetence due to her PCKD), and Ginger and Juno being advised to eat cooked food. The rest actually already have their usual time-tested foods.

Please forgive me for blurry photos because I am not good at handling my phone and taking photos with it.  I operate it with only one hand.  Riley and Tabs are willing to eat it. Juno had already run away by this time.

I’m thrilled that the “broth” is not even thick, it’s like soup. Tabs needs a lot of liquids. And the food looks very “basic” without what some would call “too many funny ingredients”.  The more basic, the better.

Juno was too busy being distracted by other things.

Fur/Ball is time-tested and joins our list of time-tested food now. I can rely on it for Juno though she still needs variety. The best thing about it is that it’s a complete food (has all the essential nutrients for cats) and its founder is a very committed person who has a medical degree (human doctor, not a vet). He is also very approachable on whatsapp and I can ask him anything I wish about the food.

Normally, cats prefer complementary food to complete food, but the fact that they all like Fur/Ball is indeed an amazing thing.

Back to the evaluation on Kit Cat 150g, the three Blondies like it too, but not Akira (so what’s new?).

Since Tabs loved it, I opened a chicken-based can for her. Again, the broth is really soup without any thickener.

It’s chicken soup! Tabs loved it.

Since Gerald is so fussy, I gave him back his favourite B2N canned food (complete food also) with his gizzards and cut chicken.

The Blondies went back to Fur/Ball.

Gerald was still hungry after finishing his bowl, so I tried Kit Cat 150g – he sapu habis.

Gerald can really eat and he’s pretty solid. My vet-friend says based on her own experience, orange cats are very good eaters! Well, yes, Ginger is obese, Gerald can eat so much, Kai and Indra (both orange girls) definitely eat better than Akira (calico).

Kit Cat 150g for the Monsters? Say no more, a picture is worth a thousand words. They loved it.

All happy and grooming after eating.

Gerald seems to be telling Ginger, “Hey, I had a new food today, it was yummilicious, did you get it too?”

Juno waits for her supplements. How good is she?

She is eating up Riley’s leftovers. Oh well…

Our vet’s plan is working well. Just Pro-Fibre and our own probiotics, Juno is producing firm stools now.

Oh, I had a nasty experience at PLC, so I’m not buying Cat’s Best litter anymore. I’m going back to tofu litter. I only resorted to Cat’s Best because of the fussy princessy Blondies who complained that tofu litter was too prickly for their delicate paws. Now, Cindy&Friends have a 1.5mm tofu litter that is much finer. Juno is okay with any litter.

They still prefer Fur/Ball!
