Our neighbourhood – a “war zone”

Last night was terrible.

Our otherwise peaceful neighbourhood was turned into a “war zone” because of fireworks and fire crackers.

Every year, it would be this same family doing it.

But what can we do? This government legalised it.

Under previous governments, I could call the police and they would actually come around albeit very late. But at least they came.

Now? It is already legalised. So it is no longer unlawful.

I can understand if the environment and animals mean nothing to these people who insist on lighting up. Tree-huggers and animal-lovers have always been and will always be a minority.

But don’t they even think about babies, young children or the elderly who may be shocked by the loud noise?

Obviously, they don’t.
