Juno’s spaying – post-op Day 2

Juno had very good appetite yesterday and she also defecated, so two things ticked off my list.

But she did not urinate. I waited until very late last night and even put her into one of the litter boxes at the pantry, but there was no urination. Riley accompanied her in the pantry all night, along with the Blondies.

So, this morning, after feeding her her first round of wet food (she had Fur/Ball’s Salmon), I brought her into the kitchen so that she could go back to her own litter box in the bathroom.

Yay! Finally, nice urine! Just a little yellow, but that’s okay. At least there’s urination. Third tick on my list: Very good appetite, there’s poo, there’s pee. We’re good!

Juno’s normal morning routine is to go in and play with the Blondies after breakfast, but I cannot allow that as the stitches need time to heal and any vigorous movement might cause the stitches to tear. So, no playing yet, Juno.

This is her second breakfast, as usual. Juno’s incredibly smart. Because of the plastic e-collar, sometimes the plate will move, she immediately puts her paw on the plate to stop the movement. She’s just a very, very smart cat.

I’m so relieved the spaying went well without any hitches yesterday. I am aware of unexpected complications that might happen even though all precautions had been taken (that is the problem with knowing too much!), but that’s who I am – I must be prepared for the worst, but I always hope for the best!

Many thanks to our senior vet who performed the surgery and the very kind vet assistant who took such good care of Juno.
