Juno’s post-op Day 3

It’s very early in the morning right now.

Juno slept a lot yesterday afternoon. Since the boys were here, Tabs and Juno went upstairs. Normally it’s Tabs who will seek refuge upstairs when downstairs gets too noisy. Tabs has always preferred quiet and solitude.

I brought food upstairs for Tabs and Juno. Juno’s normal eating pattern for a main meal is wet food followed by kibble for dessert.

Then, I gave Juno off-collar time so that she could groom herself.

Also, to observe whether she would go for the surgical site and she did.

So, back to wearing the collar again. Sorry, Juno.

She gets to groom after every meal.

At least she got to groom herself three times yesterday, under strict supervision. I know if a cat doesn’t get to groom, they get very stressed out. So, whenever any cat has to wear the e-collar, I will give them supervised grooming time.

The e-collar is actually getting a bit small for her as in it’s a bit difficult sliding it onto her over the head. I tried the cushiony e-collar yesterday but that’s not usable on Juno. It’s still too big.

A very early breakfast this morning with Tabs.

Juno slept with me all night, wearing the e-collar. If only I could get her to understand not to lick the surgical site, she can be off collar. Funny, though, all our other cats never licked on the surgical site, so they never needed to be on the e-collar for more than 24 hours.

Everything is fine for Juno. She is eating well and has already urinated and defecated for this morning. Now, she’s sleeping again.

Last night, for some unknown reason, someone lit firecrackers late at night and woke us all up. Really looking forward for this madness to stop after CNY15. But other festivals will come, one after another. The only way is for the powers-to-be to hear our complaints and ban the confounded and dangerous materials again, but I don’t see that happening anytime soon. False flags and red herrings seem to be the order of the day, if you follow local politics, that is.
