It’s been many years now, but Minnie is still “out of reach”. I’ll never know how old Minnie is because she came with skinny Smurfy in 2020, seeking help. Based on her teeth, she was estimated to be more than one year old then. So that would make her about six years old now.
Minnie was rehomed to a friend along with her boys during the worst period of my life when I was really sick. But that didn’t work out well and I brought them all back after I recovered and built a catio just for them. They came back in June 2022. Her boys remember us very well. But it’s been challenging to touch Minnie and Smurfy is also a bit cautious.
The other day, I thought Minnie was sick (but it was a false alarm – luckily!!) and that drove home the need for me to be able to touch her. We have many years down the road. What if I need to take her to the vet’s one day?
Project: Touch-Minnie
Since yesterday, I could already touch her a little bit.
Slowly does it….day by day.
Minnie has absolutely no qualms letting me fill up her bowl with food or snacks.
Count the number of grey tabbies in this photo. Why is there an extra one? Who is it???
Haha…it’s little Juno!
Juno has no fear. And perhaps it is due to this “no fear” in her that the Monsters also do not bully her!
Riley dare not even go out to the Monster’s place. Tabs does, but Tabs gets cornered by them, wolf-pack style. And we’ll have to quickly go rescue her from them.
But look at Juno! Small but mighty brave! Or, just simply not knowing there is such a thing as “danger”?
She has been bullied by Kai and Indra, the two ginger Blondies, and yet, she still loves going over to Bunny’s Place every morning.
After more than an hour (without any sounds of fights or threats), I went to look for her and found her happily earthing on the soil. She complained when I carried her back, but it is going to rain soon, so time to come back, little one.
Busy grooming.
She clearly prefers the natural Earth, doesn’t she? Well, she gets to go out to Bunny’s Place every day.
