Selamat Hari Raya, Abu!

The the last few days, Creamy aka Abu had been spending a lot of time at our porch. This morning, when I woke up, I already saw him sleeping on top of our car in the porch.

Selamat Hari Raya, Abu! His family must have gone back to their hometown.

For new readers, we’ve been feeding Creamy since December 2023, not knowing he’s actually the back neighbour’s cat, named Abu! It was only a few months ago, while searching for Gerald that we found out he lives in the house directly behind ours. I’ve already got Creamy neutered in December 2023, vaccinated and treated whenever he was sick which is quite often as he seems to have a persistent sinus problem. But he’s a very strong cat. Most likely, quite elderly too. Creamy still comes every day for his raw food snack. Last month, his owner put a collar on him.

Creamy is the direct opposite of Gerald. He’s an extremely patient cat, as most cats are, and he’s very Zen too. He will wait patiently in our porch until I notice him; he doesn’t make a single sound. There was only once when he jumped up onto the window sill to mew very softly to call me. Only that one single time.

Gerald, on the other hand, is the direct 180 degree opposite of Zen. He makes so much noise just announcing his arrival, then makes more noise asking for food, and even after eating, he continues making noise and as he exits, he is still making noise! He is the noisiest cat I’ve ever encountered!

Smokey is Creamy’s friend. She lives in the same house as Creamy. I noticed today that Smokey has a new tag on her collar. I wonder what the tag says.

Smokey appears to want to join the Blondies in Bunny’s Place.

As a young cat, maybe Smokey wants to have friends to play with.

But Smokey doesn’t come to our house for food. I hope someone is feeding her. We’ve watched Smokey grow up from a little kitten about Juno’s size to what she is today. She’s really big and bushy!

By the way, “Smokey” isn’t her name. It’s just a name I gave to her for easy reference.

Selamat Hari Raya, Smokey!
