Kelly woke up from her long nap. I tried to get her to urinate, but that failed.
At Bunny’s Place.
It’s taken six days for Akira to finally go back to the cage. I had to shoo her out to make way for Kelly on Monday. This cage is Akira’s new-found private sanctuary.
Samantha approached and postured. Kelly was submissive (look at the body language). She’s a very calm cat.
Akira and Indra are looking on.
Samantha is posturing further while Kai looks on from Bunny’s Tunnel. By the way, everything in Bunny’s Place is named after Bunny.
Juno was there too, but she’s too young to know what’s going on.
Next, I brought Kelly back and she tried to go out to Ginger’s Catio. But Smurfy growled and hissed at her. That won’t do.
So I took her out to the garden. I just wanted her to urinate. No urination can lead to FLUTD and that would be disastrous.
No, still no pee. She’s been at our house for six hours now. So I decided to send her back to the guardhouse, if only to pee, and will see what happens next. When I put her in our garden, she was already trying to get to the gate to leave. I couldn’t have her travelling on her own back to the guardhouse, so I took her back in my car, in a carrier, of course.
The moment she reached the guardhouse and I let her out of the carrier, she went to drink lots and lots of water. Lots and lots! Poor thing, she must be so thirsty, but she didn’t drink while at our house. I spoke with the guard for awhile and when I was about to leave, Kelly trotted towards me again.
Oh, do you want to follow me home again? But you haven’t urinated…
She finally settled down in her familiar surroundings.
She’s settled down now. I left and she did not follow me this time.
Will play it by ear and live in the present moment. For me, eating, drinking, urinating and defecating are basic and primal needs of every living being. They are of utmost importance.
Meanwhile, I’ve spoken to another neighbour whose daughter has been feeding Kelly too. She’s much younger than me, and she says she doesn’t mind if Kelly goes to her house for food or for the night. Kelly is welcome to come and go from her house. Her cats are free roaming and neutered. And the best thing is, her house is nearer to the guardhouse too, away from the busy road where the kindergarten parents speed.
The problem with the location of my house is that it’s on a slope downwards leading to the guardhouse. Despite the presence of speed humps, the speedsters speed.
When I first brought Kelly home this morning, I asked a reiki master to help me intuit if Kelly wants me to adopt her. At that time, he said Kelly was vacillating between a yes and a no. He said Kelly might be looking for a home. But it wasn’t a 100% decision for Kelly.
Live in the present moment. Let’s see what happens later.
