Cindy’s Recipe WholePrey arrives!

I ordered 4 cans of each of the 6 flavours of this new product, Cindy’s Recipe WholePrey, which is a complete food by FEDIAF standards and is grain free.

FEDIAF stands for the European Pet Food Industry Federation. It’s a trade association representing the European pet food industry, aiming to ensure the safety and quality of pet food while adhering to European legislation. FEDIAF’s website outlines its objectives and activities.

I was so excited to try it. It arrived in the afternoon and it wasn’t feeding time yet, but Riley and Tabs already got so excited as if they knew there was new food! I think they recognise the sound of Avant Pet’s lorry.

This is the consistency, pate-styled.

Tabs liked it. I’m so glad, because Tabs really needs variety and the “surprise-me” factor in her meals to entice her to eat. So far, her weight is stable, which is good.

As expected, I could not get Riley to eat any of it. This is not surprising at all. Riley is one of our fussiest cats. She would be suspicious of anything new. Riley does not like the pate consistency, Tabs does.

Samantha and Kai liked it too. They had triple helpings. I could not get Akira down from the platform. Indra took a sniff and decided she wasn’t hungry. Oh well, again, this is not surprising because the three young Blondies have never known hunger in their entire lives. They are what you might called, “spoilt rotten”.

Now, for the Monsters…I don’t foresee any problem with them.

But then again, this is in the afternoon and nobody is really hungry yet. Still, they went for it. Of course they would, the Monsters are food guzzlers.

Ginger was served.

Everyone ate except Robin. Again, this is totally expected. Robin only wants raw food and kibble. He just doesn’t like the consistency of canned food. He used to, but not anymore now.

Change happens.

I could not find Juno at that time. She came downstairs much later, so I tried it on her too. Juno is a very small eater, though and it’s not feeding time yet.

But she ate some! Okay, that’s encouraging.

And little Juno is actually about 3.2kg now. She’s not sitting entirely on the scale in this photo. For such a small eater, the weight gain is acceptable.

Finally, I tested it on Gerald.

Gerald is just “okay” with it. But he preferred his Cindy’s Recipe Originals with Broth. For the latter, he can polish up one can per meal.

So for our cats (sans Creamy who wants nothing but raw chicken and gizzards), the only ones who have not eaten Cindy’s WholePrey today would be Riley, Indra, Akira and Robin. Well, Akira and Robin don’t like ANY canned food. Riley likes Cindy’s Original with broth. Indra…maybe?

I’ll try it on Kelly when I next visit her.
