Late last night, we heard distant mewing by Gerald. It wasn’t from our porch at all, so when we opened the door to check, what do you know? Creamy was at the front door. Normally, we close the wooden door by late evening, so even if Creamy stood there, we would not be able to see him. And his modus operandi is just to wait there until someone sees him.
Normally, Creamy does not come so late. But he did yesterday.
This means, Gerald was announcing Creamy’s arrival to let us know that his “friend” needed food.
Why “friend”, you ask? Well, Creamy still intimidates and bullies Gerald.
And yet, Gerald helped to announce his arrival so that I could give Creamy a snack.

Whenever Creamy comes, it means he wants (almost demands!) for a snack of raw food. He doesn’t need much, though, it’s just a snack.
As Creamy was eating, we went out to look for Gerald and called him back, but the mewing had stopped and he did not come back at all…until this morning.

Gerald having his big breakfast. He can really eat a lot – three meals a day, and yet, he’s not obese in the slightest. Perhaps outdoor cats just need more food.
You’re a good friend, Gerald. You really are.
He even calls us when Smokey comes, even though Smokey steals his food and he is so afraid of her.
What a kind and considerate cat you are, Gerald. Good boy.
