This happened a few nights ago.
Gerald was mewing nonstop somewhere in the porch. Nowadays, he comes for food very often. He can really eat and from the looks of him, he has put on some weight, which is really good. Last time, he ate a lot, but still looked skinny. Now, he looks much better.
Sometimes, he eats as much as four times a day too!
So, that evening, he had already eaten his share for the day, but he still kept mewing somewhere in the porch. We decided to ignore him…until the mewing became too long.
The front wooden door was already closed for the evening, but suddenly, we heard banging on the front door.
Goodness gracious, who could be banging on our front door, so we quickly opened it and guess who was there?
It was Riley!
Poor Riley must have been trapped between the screen door and the wooden door….for almost two hours (because that’s when we closed the wooden door for the night!).
No wonder Gerald had been mewing nonstop.
By then, Riley had already climbed up the screen door. Luckily she banged on the door. Otherwise, we wouldn’t have known she was there.
Riley quickly came in, and after that, Gerald’s mewing stopped and he was nowhere to be seen until the next morning.
What a hero you are, Gerald!
Our hero!
So far, Gerald has proven himself to be a very caring friend, even to his nemesis, Creamy. If Gerald has already eaten but Creamy comes and waits at the porch, Gerald will start mewing to let me know. Of course, we don’t really know what his mews mean, but I like to think that he is telling me that Creamy needs food.
Gerald is a good cat. Noisy, but good.
