Food aid for the Balakong Street Dogs (October 2026)

This food aid comes from the AnimalCare Reserve Fund. We thank all past donors for their contributions.

The pet food:

Vitalplus dog kibble 18kg
– Lamb – 25 bags

Alps canned food Chunky (1230g x 12)
– Turkey – 8 boxes
– Salmon – 8 boxes
– Chicken – 8 boxes

We thank Avant Pet for the free delivery. This month’s delivery was delayed until yesterday because of massive renovation works at JoTong’s place of work.

A message from JoTong: I need to say thank you so much to Dr Chan and AnimalCare for the generous food aid as the aid enable me to use my funds for the mass vaccination done of the dogs earlier last month.

Tong Yut Fun (JoTong) takes turns with another feeder to feed about 176 street dogs in the Balakong area. Every dog that they can catch is neutered, most of them returned to colony (unless the dog has special needs) and managed for life with dedication and commitment. The younger puppies are rehomed, adult dogs with special needs are either rehomed or relocated to spaces which are safer for them and sick dogs are given medical treatment. Collectively, they have got 75 dogs neutered on their own previously and under our aid, 187 animals (mostly dogs and a few cats). According to JoTong, her colonies are now stabilised because most of the female dogs have all been spayed. So, CNRM works!

JoTong is also currently focusing on persuading factory operators to let her take their dogs for neutering. It would be good if the operators are willing to chip in for the vet fees and boarding as Jo is already providing the transportation for the dogs.

We offer our food aid to this large colony of street dogs under JoTong’s care because of her exemplary CNRM work where the dogs are fed responsibly with proper daily clean-up, neutered, given veterinary care and supplements, rehomed where possible and the return-to-colony ones are managed for life with love.

Here are some latest photos of JoTong with the dogs. She really goes to extraordinary lengths to ensure every single dog is fed and no dog is left hungry.
