Looking after his brother (faithful ol’ Cow Mau)

Cow Mau appears to have been looking after (or at least accompanying) Bunny a lot these days. It started a few days ago and my husband said Cow was trying to wrestle the Red Box from Bunny, but I said Cow was keeping Bunny company.

I know I’m right. Cow is a very, very empathetic being. He has always been so. I think he knows Bunny isn’t feeling very well.

Yesterday, Cow was calling me at the grille and later I found out that Bunny had vomited into his Red Box. I think Cow was alerting me.

As a reward, now Cow also gets Bunny’s flavoured water whenever Bunny drinks it. It’s Cindy’s chicken pureed food mix with water (on increase their water intake).

Cow doesn’t appear to be in pain with his mouth/gums anymore now. I did not need to give the Tramadol twice a day too, only once. Cow Mau is very tough. The vet said to only give it for a week, so I stopped today. Will wait for another week for a check-up to see if a dental is necessary.

What a faithful and caring brother…

The lyrics of the 1969 song is so, so apt…

He Ain’t Heavy, He’s My Brother

The road is long
With many a winding turn
That leads us to who knows where
Who knows where
But I’m strong
Strong enough to carry him
He ain’t heavy, he’s my brother
So on we go
His welfare is of my concern
No burden is he to bear
We’ll get there
For I know
He would not encumber me
He ain’t heavy, he’s my brother
If I’m laden at all
I’m laden with sadness
That everyone’s heart
Isn’t filled with the gladness
Of love for one another
It’s a long, long road
From which there is no return
While we’re on the way to there
Why not share
And the load
Doesn’t weigh me down at all
He ain’t heavy he’s my brother
He’s my brother
He ain’t heavy, he’s my brother, he ain’t heavy
