This morning, believe it or not, Cleo ate the bread-ball!
I only offered one bread-ball this time. There was no decoy. Just the one.
Take it or leave it, Your Royal Highness, it’s okay either way.
She deliberated for awhile and then decided to “take it”.
Thank you, Your Royal Highness.
I thank my lucky stars for today.
Then, I was going to wait for my husband to return before attempting to apply the Advocate spot-on on her but things got a little chaotic at home, so I took a risk and decided to do it myself.
Success! I managed to do it! Yay! No struggle at all. What’s happening tonight? Are the planets aligned?
I remember the last time we applied the Essential 6 spot-on on Cleo (our attempts at curing her bald flanks), it was a total disaster.
As for Bunny’s constipation problem, I had a plan yesterday. Since Bunny has been on the raw diet with low residue, I figured he needs more “residue” (in other words, junk) to create faeces. I don’t know, this is just a hypothesis. The coconut fiber worked initially but looks like it isn’t working so well now. Also, with all fiber supplements, it can get tricky. If not enough water is consumed, fiber might actually cause constipation. That’s how it is with psillium husk which many humans consume thinking it might help with their constipation but not realising that one has to consume a fair amount of water with it.
Anyway, my hypothesis is that Bunny needs more “residue”, so, last night, I gave Bunny a snack of renal kibble. My son-in-law, Yui Ping’s cat passed away recently and he gave me his remaining RC renal kibble.
Of course everyone wanted it as well, as usual. Oh well, never mind then, everyone gets the snack. And everyone was so happy with the surprise. Which cat doesn’t like kibble? That’s like asking, which child doesn’t like Twisties?
My 100% raw diet has gone to the dogs, I know. But raw food is STILL their staple diet – there is no departure from that. I’m just mixing it up a little and I have good reason to do so.
I figured, between a 100% healthy raw diet for Bunny and finding a way to avoid constipation, which one gets priority? For me, avoiding constipation takes No. 1 priority. Not being able to defecate (to eliminate waste) is a huge concern which could lead to serious health issues. So, if my giving kibble (giving “junk”, well, not junk entirely, but food with carbohydrates and cats don’t digest carbs well, so it becomes residue to form faeces), I can help with his bowel movement, why not, right? Bunny is already 16 years old, he deserves to have a comfortable life and well being.
So this morning, I waited patiently as I sang the “Scratch 3x” song to stimulate his bowel movement. Bunny squatted but only a small piece of faeces came out. Hmm….my plan did not work? Never mind, it doesn’t hurt to try.
But guess what?
Just now, I found a big, big, big piece of faeces in the middle of the back garden, on the green springy bed. I’m very sure no one else defecates there as Cow, Indy and Cleo have their respective poo-places in the sand-pit or at least at the far end of the garden. It’s always Bunny who poops in the middle of the garden. And, it’s huge in diameter, so I am pretty sure it’s Bunny’s!
Big, big, big…take a look at the end of this post.
Haha….did my plan work? I don’t know. Let’s hope it continues to work and for all you know, maybe we don’t need the Cisapride for the long term? We just need some kibble! I’m just wishing and thinking ahead now.

A kibble snack for Cleo and Bunny.
I know it’s not advisable to mix kibble (which contains carbs) with raw food, as it would upset the digestion. But I think (I hope!) giving kibble alone as a snack a few hours after their raw food meal is okay. It’s like eating Twisties as a supper snack.

Joined by Cow and Indy, of course. Indy used to be the Kibble King of the clan but nowadays, he’s not greedy. Just a small portion will do for him. Now, it’s actually Bunny who wants more and more (perhaps he knows he needs it?).
Okay, here’s the HUGE faeces I discovered just now, at a spot which is most likely Bunny’s, with a diameter which is also most likely Bunny’s so I shall record it as Bunny’s poop for this evening!

This is…heavenly!
