Bunny’s enema

As expected, Bunny is constipated again. I have not seen stools for 2 days now and prior to that, it was just “small” stools, which we call “the head” (direct Cantonese translation to describe the extreme end of the stools in the colon).

His last enema was in April this year, so that’s a 3 month gap, which is acceptable. After all, Bunny has chronic constipation.

So, Bunny was given an enema and it’s all cleared completely. Bunny weighed 4.25kg (increased!).

The vet suggests we give Bunny the coconut fiber again. I’ve stopped simply because Bunny has refused to eat it. I also stopped giving him the flavoured water Bunny refuses to drink it. Bunny IS dehydrated today and subcut was just administered yesterday morning. The vet says we can increase the subcut to 230ml instead of 200ml.

I’ll encapsulate the coconut fiber. Bunny is very easily pilled. And I’ll have to figure out how to make him drink more water.

The vet said before we increase the Cisapride to twice daily, let’s try the coconut fiber first. I do agree. Food is better than drugs.

Bunny is blind and has chronic eye issues, but it isn’t serious. He is on long term Maximus Ophtal.
