Bunny’s diarrhoea

After his enema, Bunny has been grappling with loose stools. It must be age-related.

Anyway, under the advice of the vet (and I whole-heartedly agree too), we are not opting for any medication as yet. So far, Bunny has been on steamed chicken (which he is growing tired of) and Saccharomyces Boulardii. I’m really hoping that S.Boulardii will work.

When we first started, Bunny loved this, but after two meals, he had already grown tired of it. So I had to be creative in order to make him eat. Bunny cannot be force fed. I had to be very careful when “catalyst” I added to make him eat as it cannot be a trigger to his loose stools. The general rule is “as plain and bland as possible”. So I opted for Cindy’s Tender Chicken with Broth. But that only worked once. Then I had to put a wee bit of Monge’s Monoprotein which, by the way, everyone loves. This morning, nothing worked, so I placed 4 pellets of kibble on top and shook the kibble jar. That worked – the combination of smell and sound. What’s next? It isn’t easy.

All I had to do was a turn away for a few seconds and Cleo had already taken over Bunny’s bowl. Cleo is a master at intimidation.

Because of Bunny, everyone had to eat Cindy’s Tender Chicken too.

There were loose stools yesterday, up till evening. I had given the Cisapride in the early morning because there was no loose stools in the evening before. But looks like the Cisapride could have caused the loose stools to return.

This morning, I skipped the Cisapride (and definitely the Lactulose as well). So far, there has been no loose stools.

I hope S. Boulardii solves the problem!
