I wrote to YB Wong Chen in 2013 after he was elected as MP of Kelana Jaya. I am writing to him again now and I will wait for a reply though I won’t hold my breath.
If you believe that neutered street animals should be not captured and destroyed, please help to share this. Thank you.

Subject: Will you save the street animals who are already neutered?
To: <office@wongchen.com>
Dear YB Wong Chen,
My name is Chan Kah Yein, founder of AnimalCare Society Petaling Selangor (animalcare.my) and I am located in Subang Jaya and therefore am voting in Subang, your constituency.
I first wrote to you in 2013 after you won the Kelana Jaya seat about this same matter which I am writing to you again now.
Will you save the street animals who are already neutered from being captured and destroyed by the local council?
Since 2009, our society has been giving financial aid to feeders and caregivers who get street animals neutered. The female neutered animals will be marked with an ear-notch, which is a universal symbol for a neutered animal. Some male animals are also ear-notched but they need not be so because the absence of the testicles is clearly visible to anyone (not necessary to be a vet to observe it).
In kinder and more developed communities, a neutered animal is no longer captured by their animal control unit. This animal will no longer breed and is allowed to live out his/her natural life on the street, usually being fed and looked after by the community.
All we have ever been asking for from the law-makers is for a change in the council by-laws so that neutered (ear-notched) animals are no longer captured. So far, all we have got are empty promises and even back lashes.
Will you be willing to save the lives of these neutered animals, please? At least let Subang be the first constituency to practise kindness and compassion to these street animals.
We know that animal lovers are a minority. But we are still voters. Being in government is about doing what is right and not necessarily doing what the majority wants. Savings the lives of innocent neutered animals is right.
We are not asking for funds, we are only asking for some compassion to change the by-laws. Only a law-maker can do this. We will get the animals neutered ourselves. We just ask that the councils do not capture them anymore once they are already neutered (ear-notched).
Your response would be much appreciated.
The earth belongs to the animals too. Where they are born is where they belong.
Thank you.
Regards,
Dr Chan Kah Yein
