This afternoon, Riley went all the way back upstairs to her room. I didn’t see it happening but when I noticed she was missing from under the bluish stool, I looked all over the house for her but could not find her anywhere. Then I went upstairs and there she was – behind the TV!
This evening, I brought her downstairs again.
She is really warming up quite fast for a feral kitten. She is already rubbing herself all over me and touching noses with me too! The vet estimates her at “more than 5 months”, which means it is equivalent to a 10 year-old human child, more or less.
I found this online:
4 Months – The kitten’s baby teeth are beginning to fall out and are replaced by adult teeth. In general, a kitten will have a full set of adult teeth by the time it reaches 7 months of age. 5 – 6 Months – Most kittens have now grown enough to be safely spayed or neutered.
By the time your kitten has reached 6 months of age, it has most likely grown close to its full adult size. While their growth may slow down after 6 months, the development and growth phase will usually continue until the cat is roughly one year old, which is why many veterinarians treat the 12-month point as the age when a kitten becomes an adult.

If Riley is more than 5 months old (almost 6 months), is this going to be her adult size?? Actually Riley’s canines are 80% erupted and I checked with various sites, she must be 6 months of age. She is really small sized.

She’s not in shocked here. Her eyes are actually THIS big.

She is leaning on my leg here.

Exploring the kitchen.

This is still her favourite place downstairs!
But with Riley no longer being outdoors, I don’t know when Samantha comes around for food. This is because it has always been Riley making the loud mewing sounds to alert me whenever Samantha is here. Samantha does not make a sound. So I’ve been going out regularly to check for Samantha. Leaving food out is also an option but it may be eaten by other cats.
