I woke up at 3am this morning to feed Riley so that she could be fasted for 8 hours before her spaying surgery.
The procedure was done quite fast.
When we reached the clinic to take her back, Riley was semi-awake. The vet assistant says she was still a bit groggy and might not be active for another 2 hours or so. She also might not eat until then.
When we reached home, Riley immediately got out of the carrier and walked around but her legs were still rather limp. She strengthened very fast and was soon walking around and coming to.
I left a bowl of kibble for her to eat later, but she went for it straightaway and started eating!
The clinic’s protocol is to be on the e-collar for 10 days for females. We shall see how well or fast her surgical wound heals.
