Creamy doesn’t come daily nowadays. I think Gerald has taken upon himself to be the prime CNRM-cat on our street. He (Gerald) comes several times daily making his Ah Long-demands for food. I am actually worried it will be only a matter of time before the neighbours complain because he is oh-so-loud! So very, very loud.
We also know that Creamy comes from the back road and may even have a home.
So Gerald comes at around 5am every morning, making a huge racket to demand for food, and any time after that, to demand for more. And he only wants canned food. Maybe he can get kibble elsewhere?
Today, Creamy paid us a surprise visit.

He came back for a canned food treat. Creamy loves canned food and will not eat kibble whenever he comes. After all, if he already gets kibble from his own home, why would he want kibble again, right?
I just wish he would come more often as he can do with some weight gain.

As for Samantha, here’s what we think: We think she doesn’t have her kittens anymore. I don’t know what happened to them and it is best not to speculate since we don’t have any facts. Her nipples are not swollen too (actually have not been, but I wasn’t sure initially). She spends most of her time in our porch now.
I think she is pregnant again and if the culprit was Gerald then the date of mating would be 6th December (which was the date I caught Gerald after that). If only I had done that a day earlier, but there is no point in saying “if onlys” now. A day earlier, I had no opportunity at all to catch Gerald because I did not even see him anywhere. I only saw Creamy around.
On the 6th, Gerald was “in season” and he was all out to mate with Samantha. That is how I managed to catch Gerald. He was near Samantha all the time and his urge to mate probably overcame his fear of me. I only caught him after he had mated with Samantha because when the noticed them, he was already mating with Samantha. I shooed him away, but he refused to budge and when he did, Samantha followed him closely.
Now, if it happened on 6th December 2022, counting 65 days from then, then Samantha’s next delivery date would be around 9th February 2023.
I have a plan on what to do closer to the date, but the plan is still fluid as we have time.
So, such is the life of an unneutered street cat.
But what if the mating had not been successful on the 6th of December? After I removed both Gerald and Creamy on that same day, Bushy came all the way from down the road. Bushy is a part-pedigree (or full pedigree, I really don’t know but he sure isn’t your typical kucing kampung) and wears a collar. I even know which house he comes from and he is not neutered. Bushy was with Samantha a day after I sent Gerald and Creamy for neutering at the vet’s. Could it have been Bushy who had mated with Samantha? If so, the expected date pushes back another day.
In any case, Gerald and Samantha are still the very best of friends now. They come together for food, then Gerald goes off (I don’t know where to) while Samantha stays in our porch. As close as I can get to her, I still cannot catch her at all. She is cautious, but not as cautious as Riley.
Now, Riley is a super manja kitty!
For the benefit of new readers, Riley, Gerald and Creamy have already been neutered and ear-notched.
