I wanted to feed them at 10pm last night but when I went up, Indra was suckling on his own, so I decided to leave them be. Then again, at 2am, I woke up to check on them, thinking I might feed Indra, but all three kittens were fast asleep and they did not look hungry.
But at 5am I was awakened by the loud mewing of Akira. I rushed up only to see her doing nothing much and the mewing had stopped.
Since they were awake I decided to weigh them even though the weighing should be at 6am.
| Date | Time | Kai | Akira | Indra |
| 11-Feb | 6pm | 118 | 115 | 104 |
| 12-Feb | 6.30am | 125 | 123 | 114 |
| 12-Feb | 5.30pm | 133 | 131 | 123 |
| 13-Feb | 5.30am | 143 | 137 | 128 |
| 13-Feb | 6.00pm | 149 | 146 | 133 |
| 14-Feb | 5.00am | 160 | 149 | 145 |
As expected, Kai is doing well. Indra has gained 12g in the last 12 hours which is spectacular! Maybe Samantha understood my thoughts to her, that she has to feed Indra. But Akira’s weight gain is dismal. Only 3g in the last 12 hours? I couldn’t believe it and weighed her again, and it was correct.
I do also know that weight gain may be in spurts and that I should do a “24 hour running” monitoring instead of 12 hours. So if I do that, she gained 12g in the last 24 hours, which is still not enough if we go by the 10% increase per day.
So I proceeded to feed Akira, but Samantha was clearly unhappy and tried to take her back from me. She also gave me warning bites. I finally managed to feed a total of 2ml over two rounds.
Kai, as usual, didn’t want me to feed him at all. Samantha also objected to me taking Kai. Indra was okay and I only managed to feed him 0.5ml.
So now the concern is on Akira. But she’s certainly got a very loud and powerful voice!
Samantha is grooming them now. At least that’s something. And she objects to me taking them too. That’s also a good sign.

Riley visiting.
These questions still remain:
- Is Riley Samantha’s daughter?
- Is Samantha Minnie’s daughter? I really think she is, because when Minnie was a street kitten-cat, I saw her clutching a grey kitten (Smurfy) and a calico. That calico is most likely Samantha. If that’s true, then I’ve reunited a really big family here. Three generations! Nice, isn’t it? We will know more once I take Sam to the vet and they check her teeth. I mean, that’s no certainty, but it would increase the probability if she is around Smurfy’s age. Whatever it is, Samantha, once spayed, will be our CNRM-cat along with her friends, Gerald and Creamy.
