Moved to a bigger maternity ward (Sam and kittens)

Hubby said the current box is probably too small for Sam to stretch out and he is right. But I didn’t dare move her and the kittens earlier.

Seeing how the size of the box might affect her ability to feed her kittens successfully, I took the risk.

We brought up a bigger box, then hubby went out of the room because his presence might spook Samantha.

First, I took the kittens one by one and put them into the new box. Samantha did not budge from the old one.

Then, I carried the old box with Sam inside and literally “poured” her out into the new box!

A bigger box lined with towels.

All good! And here’s Akira venturing out.

Tabs came to visit…and eat.

Kai and Akira. Indra is in the background.

I think after yesterday’s syringe feeding, Samantha understands that she has to keep feeding her kittens. She is more protective now and does not like me feeding them. Well, good. As long as she continues feeding them, I will definitely lay off. Breast is best.

Akira has been making periodic squealing sounds, but I’ve learnt that it’s not something to be alarmed about. She’s just being noisy.

Well, human females talk 4 times more than males, right?
