The Rey Challenge begins!!

Those who have been following this blog would know that Rey has absolutely no problems scaling Stargate to get over to Bunny’s Place any number of times per day.

It would have been totally okay if he behaved himself, but he does not.

He goes over and I have seen him bullying and annoying Cow Mau, Indy and Cleo.

Now, firstly, while the vet said it was okay for him to scale and jump down from such a height, it is still not good in the long run.

Secondly, it is not fair for him to bully Cow Mau and the Super Seniors.

Thirdly, I’m contemplating letting Samantha stay with the Super Seniors. The reason is that compared with Misty, Samantha might be a more suitable candidate. If I return Samantha to the porch, that would be ideal, but (1) remember complainant-neighbour? (2) Samantha and Misty absolutely cannot get along and the two might fight (Misty is FIV+ while Sam isn’t). Misty only came after I took Samantha indoors to let her deliver safely. Otherwise, Misty must have another food source, probably at the RYABK.

While Gerald and Creamy do not go over to Complainant’s direction (they go the opposite direction), I’ve seen Samantha going over in that direction. Samantha and Riley actually came from that direction. Riley is already indoors and very happy being so. She has no intention to go back out.

Also, Samantha gets along so well with Riley. Misty is still quite feral and while Riley is trying to make friends with her, Misty is not willing to be friends with anyone except Gerald whom she absolutely adores. Well, who doesn’t adore Gerald, right?

Anyway, adopting Samantha and her kittens and Hiro means I should strive to live on for another 15-18 years, failing which I must find a godparent for them. I already have a godmother for Cow Mau, Cleo, Indy, Tabs, Ginger, Minnie, Smurfy, Rey, Robin and Lynx. She will take them if I don’t outlive them. Thank you, my dear friend!

I’m in the midst of negotiating for a godparent for Sam, Riley, Kai, Akira, Indra and Hiro. But if anyone is willing, please do write to me. This means, you only take over IF I don’t survive them. As long as I’m still alive and well, you don’t have to do anything at all. I might have to put Gerald into the group as well.

Oh dear, I’ve digressed so badly, I’m sorry.

Let me get back on track.

So, yes, what is this Rey Challenge all about then?

Well, so we need to stop Rey from coming over. We have tried various means over the months, and have failed very miserably. It’s like Human – 0, Rey – ALL (yes, he has won every time).

So, two days ago, hubby decided he wants to take Rey on. So far, whatever he has done has failed. But he isn’t giving up.  I have, though. I said just get the contractor over and build a Rey-proof all-new Stargate, that covers all the way up. That is my solution, but hubby is reluctant. He wants to win this challenge, so the Rey Challenge has now officially started after we went to Daiso today so that he could get whatever paraphernalia he needed. I do wish him all the best, meant in all sincerity.

But meanwhile, I’m all ready to call the contractor. After all, the present old Stargate has corroded at the base. I’m afraid it will collapse one day.

The other day, Rey went over as usual and annoyed Cow and Indy so much that the two black-and-whites combined forces to teach Rey a lesson.

They chased him, but Rey went to hide in Bunny’s tunnel. So Cow stood at one end while Indy stood at the other end. They would have attacked him if he tried to come out from either end. So who says animals cannot think or strategise, right?

Luckily we intervened and freed the silly fellow.

Cow and Indy on the alert.

Rey is on the extreme left (long tail). He only comes over for meals.

Why can’t Rey just stay on his own side with his family, right?
