We just went out for half an hour this morning to get some supplies and upon our return, I found many specks of blood all over the floor and walls in Bunny’s Room.
The Blondies were busy playing in the room while Indy was lying down on the floor.
My first thought was that there was a fight and the specks of blood must be from Indy’s paws.
Indy was totally fine. He walked out in a normal fashion and there were no bloody paw prints.
Now, where was the blood from?
It took me awhile to see it.
It was Akira’s ear. And it’s the ear with the V-notch.
The V-notch had already healed very well and nicely, but now, it had become a flat tip!

But she wasn’t in the least bit bothered about her ear. Obviously, she wasn’t even in any pain. She was busy playing and romping around with Kai and Indra.
I took some pictures and sent them to the vet.
Her ear must have been bitten while they were playing. The V-notch has now become a flat tip. Sigh…
Or rather, it’s both – it’s a flat tip plus what’s left of the V-notch.
The inside looks okay.
It’s the outside that is slightly injured.
The vet says to just clean it gently with water and apply Fucidin to prevent infection.
Poor Akira… But clearly, she isn’t bothered at all!!
For long-time followers of this blog, you might remember that Cow Mau, our warrior cat, V-notched his ear in a fight many years ago! Yes, it was quite a “nice” V too. But that injury was massive. Well, those were his warrior days!
