The politics of the porch

I don’t like using the word “politics”, but I cannot think of a better word to describe it.

There used to be peace in the porch, with Gerald and Creamy only. Then Misty came along and there was still peace.

But as time went by, Misty decided she should be the boss. So she started bullying Creamy.

Creamy probably found a home in the back street (or he was originally from there), but he would still come daily for two meals. He likes raw food. He actually only comes for the raw food as he would not eat canned food even when offered. He just wanted the raw food.

Misty would give him a really hard time when he came.

But he still persists.

Gerald and Misty were the best of friends….

Until lately, somehow, Gerald also stopped staying in the porch and only Misty was left in her special elevated basket which resembles a throne.

As they say, “In politics, there are no permanent friends or enemies; just permanent interest.” But in human politics, there isn’t even permanent interest. Even that changes with time!

So, nowadays, Gerald comes to eat, then he also goes away “somewhere”. Misty doesn’t attack Gerald as she does Creamy, though.

They appear to be still best friends. I hope this will not change.

For some reason, Misty’s body fur is turning more and more golden in colour.

This is Misty’s throne.
