Cow Mau’s check-up

Since I had to take Akira to the vet’s, I took Cow Mau along too. Might as well have his hard lump physically checked by the vet.

The vet said it all looks okay for now, but I would still need to monitor the lump daily. If it turns “balloony” (soft), that means there’s pus and that would need to be drained out. Local anaesthesia can be used.

If there is no balloony lump, then it is fine and the hard lump should subside, given time.

Meanwhile, the vet said to increase the Beazyme to twice daily.

We just need time. Get well soon, Cow Mau!

The vet also checked Cow Mau’s mouth and there is quite a bit of inflammation (this is normal for an aged FIV+ cat). Rather than depend on long-term steroids which has side effects, a better option would be to address the pain with transdermal Tramadol whenever the need arises. The transdermal cream is safer than the oral tablet too. So we will use this method.
