Feeding the Blondies with full vigilance and attention!

Feeding the Blondies require full vigilance and attention because (1) eating isn’t their priority so they don’t place much interest in it, (2) they won’t bother to come to the pantry to eat unless they are REALLY hungry (this happens maybe once in 2-3 days), so I have to hunt them down and feed them in-situ (where they are).

This is a typical meal session of the Blondies (what happened today): None of them came to the pantry to eat. So I had to track them down.

Samantha was, as usual, lazing on the bed. So I had to serve her there. Your breakfast, Madame.

Akira was on top of the cage. And with her, I have to start with Cubgrub, then only add Coco&Joe’s. Or the reverse, depending on her mood or preference for that particular meal.

Kai and Akira were busy exploring something in the grass, so I had to feed them here. Indra is easier to feed. Kai….well, something like Akira.

Then comes the all-important trick of full vigilance, watching everyone. As soon as more than half is eaten or when they are about to finish, I must quickly go over and “tambah” for them (add on more food), because if I miss that, they will quickly go away to play (after all, who needs to eat, right?).

This means, I cannot do anything but keep a watchful and attentive eye on each of them. In today’s case, it is in three different locations. Even then, I missed the window of opportunity with Samantha and she had already moved away upon finishing her food and I was too slow in replenishing her bowl!

I managed to add on for the three girls, though. So they ate their fill for breakfast. Phew!

The things we do for our pets, right?

The Blondies have never known hunger. Maybe Samantha has when she was living on the street, but the Blondies? Certainly not.
