Gerald is free again

My plan was to release Gerald on Thursday, but he decided he’s had enough of being confined “in prison”.

Today’s yowling has been very loud and nonstop.

I remember the vet saying that if he’s yowling this much, it means he’s not happy and he wants to be outdoors, so for his happiness, I should let him out.

The wound is almost closed up, just a wee bit more (that is why my target day was Thursday). But last night, he also yowled for hours nonstop, and this morning, he was jumping from platform to platform looking for a way out, almost desperately.

I let him roam in the Safehouse, but he also went up and down the stairs yowling. It’s like he’s saying, “I’m going mad, I need to go out, I need to go out! Please….”

Okay, okay, Gerald. It’s been 17 days of confinement.

So we made a judgment call and decided to let him out.

The moment I opened the front door, Gerald trotted out so happily.

That left-most bar has been left open for Ops Lizzie (under husband’s purview as I’m swarmed with cat matters).

He wasn’t even interested in Lizzie’s roast chicken.

Freedom!!! At last!!

You take good care of yourself, Gerald, and please avoid all fights. Walk away, don’t engage.

Please be well, Gerald. See you later, for tea time or dinner.

P.S. I hope we can catch up on our sleep tonight.
