Juno at night

Juno has been very active today, very alert, but she’s passed out soft stools a total of five times. I’m not sure what is happening because as of yesterday, her stools were hardening up.

So I can safely say that we have had a setback today.

I just hope tomorrow would be better.

Meanwhile, her butt sore has improved a lot so that’s good. We have decided to let it heal on its own now that the swelling has subsided a lot today. If we don’t apply the cream, she will not lick it much.

Juno also finally started putting on weight yesterday. Tonight, her weight is 1.44kg; this morning it was 1.41kg and when she was discharged two days ago, it was 1.37kg.

So all that’s left is the stool consistency. Tricky business, that one.

It is almost 11.00pm now and she’s still active.

I’m also undecided as to which food to feed her now because we cannot go back to her “regular” food as that’s raw food. I just have a feeling that raw food might just do the trick of hardening her stools, especially raw rabbit, but I don’t dare take this risk. It’ll have to be cooked food, but which works best, I really don’t know.

We’ll just have to try and hope we win the “lottery”.

I’ve already given Juno Kaolin-Pectin and steamed pumpkin tonight. I hope these two will help harden her stools as they are supposed to do that. I have also removed the feathers from her golf course and the scratch board. Her favourite stick toys have been put high up. We cannot risk another feather-eating incident again.

Goodnight, everyone.
