This morning, I tried Fur/Ball Lamb on our cats. This would be the last flavour to try. We started with Chicken which many of them liked, including Akira which came as a total surprise (but only for one meal!), then Salmon which they liked only on the first try and did not quite like it anymore on the second (surprisingly, because it’s their bestseller), then Beef which they also liked on the first try.
Today, we try Lamb!

Juno ate an entire meal of it, neat! She loved it. That’s good because it’s Juno who needs to go on cooked food until she is older.
I’m trying out cooked foods mainly for Juno and Ginger, and well, for the fusspot Blondies too, just in case they do better with cooked food. For the rest, they are all on raw and Tabs is on her special PCKD diet, but so far, Fur/Ball has been a most effective topper to entice her to eat her Hill’s KD, so that works really well, especially when they have four flavours for me to rotate.

Tabs loved it too, but only as a topper because her staple diet is a renal one.
Next up is Gerald, because he was yowling till no end.

Gerald liked it.

And even wanted more!
Next up, the fusspot Blondies…

Indra liked it and had extra helpings!

Kai liked it but did not finish it.
Akira, Samantha and Riley said no, which is not surprising.
Next up, the Monsters!

Robin, Lynx and Minnie liked it. Minnie even asked for more. I’ve noticed that Minnie seems to like Fur/Ball. Ginger was okay with it, but it was a total “no” from Smurfy (he’s up on the platforms, by the way). Again, it’s not surprising, since Smurfy has rejected every flavour of Fur/Ball.
So, based on our experience so far, which isn’t exactly a comprehensive one, here’s how we rate Fur/Ball’s flavours:

Chicken – most of them liked it even on the second round.
Salmon – they liked it on the first round, but not so much on the second round.
Beef – they liked it on the first round, have not tried the second round.
Lamb – they liked it on the first round, have not tried the second round.
Riley and Smurfy did not like any of the flavours. For the rest, it’s all good. For Juno, Fur/Ball can be one of her meals now but for the rest, I will use it as a topper for a new novel taste every now and then.
I started out to look for a staple diet for Juno and possibly, Ginger.
Well, I’ve found one for Juno now. I like the fact that Fur/Ball offers four flavours so that I can use them for protein rotation and also as a novel protein. This, I’ve found, is important to prevent food allergy.
We will be re-ordering!
