Hi folks, as a follow-up to the post from PETA on refraining from using products that are tested on animals, here’s a sharing from me on what I use at home.
As far as I’m told, Amway products are not tested on animals. We use LOC for practically every sort of cleaning purpose and Dish Drops for the dishes but we’ve found that LOC is better at cleaning dishes than Dish Drops! LOC is really good as it is very economical and versatile. We can even wash our clothes with it. And it’s great for the car too.
So this one product takes care of practically all the cleaning in the house.
For personal care, I only use toothpaste, soap and shampoo. The toothpaste and soap are made from virgin coconut oil as its primary ingredient. The brand is Orifera and it’s our own Malaysian brand, not tested on animals. You can get it from Subang Pet Products in SS18/6 as the brother of the proprietor manufactures the products himself. The soap is excellent for all purposes – hand, body, face. The shampoo (Radiant) is bought from Medifoods which is two doors away from Subang Pet Products. We use it for hair, body and as well a handwash. It’s made from coconut oil and palm oil and it’s biodegradable so it will not contaminate the rivers and oceans.
So there’s all the household products I need and they are all not tested on animals!
If you have any other products to share, please leave a comment.
Animal testing is another very, very cruel industry. Let’s not support it. Change over to products that are NOT tested on animals.

Hi Dr. Chan,
There are many Made in Malaysia products – not tested on animals:
1. Indochine Natural Handmade Soap (I use their soaps, liquid soaps and multipurpose cleaning liquid) – at Justlife stores or Shop online at their website
2. Paul Penders
3. Alive Group – shop online at their website
4. Esmeria – this you can find in Caring pharmacy and shop online at their website
5. The Kinder soap – shop online at their website
Foreign brand from Australia –
1. Moogoo – this is great for those who are looking at alternatives (non steroids) for skin ailments. I use their shampoo and conditioner and body shower(even Jack uses them) as well as their MSM cream.
2. Aesop – this is a higher end product from Australia.
I believe apart from not test on animals, packaging is important as well. Aesop bottles / containers are pharmaceutical-grade amber glass bottles – this gets a better chance for recycling purposes compared to plastic. Minimal packaging is important. I don’t see why there is a need to open plastic sheet + paper box + card box before reaching for a product. The labels on the bottles should do.
And of course there are Sukin and Botani from Australia which is animal friendly too.
Where ever possible, I go for Made in Malaysia products.
Hope this helps. 🙂
