Make that change! Reduce meat-consumption…

As Michael Jackson would say, in “Man in the Mirror”, “make that change!”

If you’d like to reduce your meat-intake, purely out of compassion for the animals so that the butchers don’t have to slaughter so many animals each day, and the factory farmers don’t have to breed so many animals for slaughter, here’s how you can start:

And I hear more European cities are following suit.
Here’s another reason for reducing meat-consumption:
Animal husbandry contributes 18% of the world’s greenhouse gases,
ie. methane.
Want to save the earth?
Reduce meat-consumption.

I don't mind moving towards being a vegetarian but the problem is that since most of us are not such great veggie cooks or working most of the time, we have to depend on veggie restaurants for our veggie food.
Unfortunately, veggie restaurants serving fresh, nutritious and tasty veggie food are rare and a lot of them use so-called veggie sauces, etc with lots of preservatives and they taste YAK! I am speaking from experience by the way.
So, it is like the question: Did the chicken come first or the egg.
Before, we can promote vege eating on a big scale, we first must have entrepreneurs who are prepared to set up nutritious and good-tasting veggie restaurants, serving fresh veggie dishes, here there and everywhere.
Then, when meat-eaters try these restaurants and find that veggie food is not that bad after all, hey! the trend will start and vegetarianism becomes popular.
That is the way it is. This is not a perfect world. We are suppose to live in harmony with the animals who have the right to live in this world too, since they were created together with us.
But we humans being more vicious, we eat them instead! And animals don't have guns to fight back and defend themselves.
So, anyone out there know of any good veggie restaurants in PJ, Subang Jaya or Brickfields?

  2. I throw six types of veges into a pot, pour in some water, and boil them into a soup – that's one nutritious meal for me.

There are two organic vege restaurants in Subang Jaya – Medifoods and the Organic Fresh Mart and Vege Restaurant, both located in SS18.

I highly recommend the Temple of Fine Arts or Gandhi Restaurant in Brickfields.

In general, I prefer the Indian restaurants for vege food – it is more authentic, healthier and less "fake".

May I suggest Green Meadow restaurant in SS2. It's near the KFC. The food is organic, no meat and it's tasty. The price is above average though. Do try it, I love it but can't really afford to go everyday.
