Three more foldable bags – sold!

I brought my newly sewn green foldable bag to buy groceries this afternoon. A friend spotted it and we got talking about #Bebas Plastik. So I showed her how this bag could be folded and would you believe it, she decided to buy my first-sewn bag! So, that’s already sold AND there are orders for another three more.

So I drove over to my mum’s house to get the cloth and went back to the shop to show the ladies who ordered the bags so that they could choose their colours.

And so the last 3-4 hours were spent sewing three more foldable bags.

It’s always fun to learn a new skill. Better still, if it brings in funds for the animals!

The bags that I sew measure 15 in by 18 in.

That’s 3 foldable bags!

The whole idea is to be able to put 2-3 bags into one and go shopping. They are light, thin and not bulky at all.

How to fold: https://animalcare.my/2017/01/06/my-first-foldable-bag/

My mum acquired these pieces of cloth sometime last year. We didn’t quite know what to do with them as the colours are all rather dark. They come in single pieces too and it wasn’t quite enough to do a blanket with any of them.

Now, they are just perfect for these bags. One piece of cloth is exactly enough to make a bag (with the two handles) and not a single bit is wasted. How perfect!

We still have these pieces:

Update: The pieces above have been fully booked now!

Meanwhile, Jennifer has contributed 12 foldable bags to us for fundraising. Hers are 13 in by 17 in (slightly smaller and more petite!): https://animalcare.my/2017/01/06/jennifers-foldable-bags/

If you’d like to order these bags, please write to me at chankahyein@gmail.com.

We are selling the bags at RM35 for two pieces (by donation) – intro offer.
Update on 8th Jan 2017: The bags are RM20 per piece now.

Thank you for your support!

    Hello Dr Chan!

    Very nice cloth design!

An idea : drawstring pouch for buying roots veg (carrots, potatoes, onions, garlic, etc). The cloth pouch is possible for machine wash and can be reused when buying the veg. 🙂

    Canvas or cloth bag rocks!
