Vicky’s fabulous idea of sewing red gift bags in the form of our foldable shopping bags has set off a trend now! This means more orders for us and more funds for the animals. Thank you very much, Vicky!
Here are Vicky’s 5 bags:

This would be my favourite piece!

This too!

And I love this floral piece as well (we have enough cloth for 3 pieces, all reserved).

The above cloth are all from my mum’s stash.

I can finish a bag in half an hour now, using the tips Jennifer shared with me.

Needless to say, the supervisor is IN.

This afternoon, I had a full tabby battalion as supervisors and assistants!
So I told my friends about the red gift bags, and received another order for 5 more bags! This order is from the friend who bought my first foldable bag (the green batik one). She is my taiqi sifu, actually, and she got orders for me by showing her bag to her friends and students. Thank you very much, Sifu.
Here are the 5 bags she ordered for her students:

Initially I thought these were little doggies (she had wanted doggie-bags), but Chen Chen pointed out that they were actually horses, so I went back to Sifu and told her they were horses, and she said “That’s even better! Loong Mah Ching San!” (trans: Vibrant Horse, Vibrant Mind!), which is very auspicious for the Chinese New Year.
Now, isn’t that a serendipitous coincidence!

Hello Kitty in peach (if anyone is interested, I have enough cloth to sew another one, and I also have this cloth in pink, yellow and blue).

This piece of cloth was not enough to make the handles, so I used remnants from the Giraffe-Hippo cloth.

Another piece of Loong Mah Ching San, with auspicious red handles too!

Love this cherry piece!

To be hand-delivered to Sifu tomorrow.

And to be posted to Vicky together with her other order of a dog wrap (scarf) please see below:

It’s a piece of long scarf, measuring 4 in by 8 ft.

Vicky says it works for her dog, especially during this season when there will be fireworks and firecrackers. So, she thought it would be a good idea to have us sew one for her dog. We thank Vicky for her thoughtfulness and kind donation of RM150 for the 5 red gift bags and this dog wrap.

And Anita Chen has ordered 3 red gift bags from the cloth above!
Back to the sewing machine soon to sew two more Giraffe-Hippo Blankets (ordered by Yoke Mei for a donation of RM600!) and the dog wrap, of course.
The street animals are truly blessed this month and so are we as it is indeed a great blessing to be able to raise funds for them through such joyful activities!

Tonight’s supervisor.

And his sister.
If you would like to order our foldable bags, please write to me at chankahyein@gmail.com. We probably cannot rush them in time for CNY so it would be after that.
