After so many days of not being able to eat on her own, today, finally, Rosie eats on her own again!
It was after her subcut and she was having a nap in the litter box-bed (it made me think of a nap after a massage!) when Daffodil asked for food. So I poured out some kibble for Daffodil.
Rosie immediately jumped (yes, jumped!) out of her litter box which was on a chair and came next to Daffodil.

Mother and daughter eating side by side.
It was Tuscan kibble.
Daffodil still rejects Rosie, though. Never mind, we will give it some time.

May I have some too, please?

She just loves her litter box-bed!
Tomorrow is Rosie’s 2nd acupuncture session.

Just a thought: have you tried transferring Daffodil and Ginger’s scents on Rosie? Cats recognize each other with a common scent that’s build up by mutual grooming… But with Rosie going in and out her scent had probably changed. What we did when one of our furbabies had to come back from the clinic was to have a sock/hanky that we rubbed over the cats that stayed home esp the cheeks or side of body where there a scent glands. Then after we rubbed the “returning cat”. We would alwayd do it “one way” –> never from returning cat to home cats because that transfers the foreign scent that the home cats don’t like. But after a while, they might recognize their scent on the returning cat and investigate.
Sending good vibes.
Yes, Chen Chen mentioned rubbing the scent and yes, I have done that (Ginger’s scent on Rosie). But I should do it more conscientiously and frequently. Thanks very much for sharing all these tips. It’s very useful!
Rosie’s nose doesn’t look that yellow in the last picture. I hope she is doing well.
Thank you, Yen Ling. Rosie is actually still yellow and her abdomen is still very big (swollen liver). But I think she already feels better, so we are hopeful. The yellow will take quite sometime to disappear, I was told.
