Ginger’s paw wound – Day 5
All is looking good for Ginger. It’s a rainy morning. That is Smurfy, can you see Kai at the far end? She is guarding her territory from the lookout. Minnie and Lynx. This rattan chair belongs to Minnie. That’s Robin. He always greets me whenever I come out so it’s actually difficult to take his…

The battle of the bed!
Ever since the change of the bedspread, Akira seized back the bed from Gerald. And her family can enjoy the comforts of the bed again! Brave Akira. Gerald went back to the top of Bunny’s cage. Kai is here. The Blondies must be so happy to get back their bed!

The Blondies’ breakfast
Gerald is still demanding to eat before everyone else, maintaining his old eating schedule. And still as fussy as ever! He rejected canned food this morning and only wanted raw chicken gizzards. Oh well…I give in to him because of his blackmailing. If he doesn’t get what he wants, he yowls. Meanwhile, today was a…

Ginger’s paw wound – Day 4
Ginger is no longer isolating himself up on the platforms. He’s eating breakfast with everyone else, and also eating wet food. Today, he finishes the Meloxicam (anti-inflammatory) and there are another four more days of the Clavumox (antibiotics). I am thinking of reducing the Tramadol already. I think he’s okay.

Gerald’s quiet time
Does it even exist? Yes, when he takes his long naps. The funny thing is, he sometimes mews early at dawn, even as early as 5am. I’d still be asleep, and it wakes me up and I’m too tired to go downstairs. So I just “telepathise” (if such a word exists, that is) the message…

Ginger’s paw wound – Day 3
Today is Day 3 of Ginger’s paw wound since treatment started. He is no longer limping at all, but he still prefers to stay up high. And he only wants kibble for breakfast. For dinner, he eats raw food like everyone else. Way up high!

Gerald’s breakfast
As you know, Gerald is a very, very fussy cat when it comes to eating. As usual, I gave him his raw gizzards this morning but I added a tablespoon of raw food. He turned his nose up in the air and walked. Then I removed that tablespoon of raw food and he ate up…

Ginger’s paw wound – Day 2
Yesterday, Ginger preferred to stay on the platforms. I did not put the e-collar on him all the time, though. He did not lick his wound at all, so I only use it for about an hour after I cleaned the wound and applied the Fucidin to prevent him from licking off the cream. He…

Ginger to the vet’s (paw wound)
Ginger did not come for breakfast this morning. He had gone up to the highest platform (the lookout) and was sitting alone. Something was definitely not right. After feeding everyone, we managed to get him to come down but he was clearly limping. There was a small black spot (it felt like a scab) on…

Why Indra likes to live with Riley
Samantha has an obvious favourite – Kai. Akira is okay too, but she doesn’t seem to care much for Indra. This is why Indra prefers to come into the house and play with Riley. Riley is actually a very, very good big sister. Whenever any of the Blondies come into the house, Riley takes it…

Just how fussy is Gerald?
I would say he’s our fussiest cat when it comes to eating. He expects me to read his mind as to what he wants to eat. Sometimes, it’s 100% raw chicken gizzards (he can easily eat up to four pieces of gizzards in one sitting). I’m trying to introduce some chicken breast meat together with…

Tabs’ medicated bath
I gave Tabs her second medicated bath today, with Pyohex. The vet says to let the shampoo stay on for 7 minutes (the bottle actually says 10 minutes), but the best we can do is 6 minutes before Tabs starts to get very restless. I do understand, 7 minutes is a very long time to…

Gerald, the Blondies and the Monsters
Our most obedient cats are the Monsters. They give no trouble at all except for the occasional fights amongst themselves which do not end in bloodshed or vet visits. And feeding them is a joy because they have fantastic appetite. I cannot say the same for the Blondies. I only managed to get Samantha and…

Seeking Rey’s help…to control Gerald’s yowling
Husband had an idea today – why don’t we let Rey into Bunny’s Place and see if this can stop Gerald’s yowling? Well, it’s worth a try. Anything to stop the yowling is worth a try! Not only did Rey come over, but the whole gang did. Everyone. But take a look, Gerald isn’t at…

The boys and the Monsters
The boys played with the Monsters today! Jayden is more familiar with the cats as he grew up with them. Best friends since young! Ryan is learning not to fear the cats. The boys played from the Catio into Bunny’s Place. They had lots of fun with all the cats! Inside the house, they normally…
