  • Checking on the LLLP dogs

This morning Ainey and I will be making a trip to LLLP to check on the dogs over there.  The SPCA van is coming along too, just in case we need to transport any dogs back for treatment. Please pray that the van can come back empty.  I am very anxious.

  • Perky, up for adoption or fostering

In about a weeks’ time, Perky ought to be ready to go “home”.  But she doesn’t have a home.  Perky is one of the survivors of our Klang Dog Pound rescue.  She braved through a storm.  We took her out of the pound along with 35 others.  She was brought to Bentong, spayed by our…

  • Sean is discharged, and….

After coming back from HUKM, I phoned Dr Edmund, and was told that Tara is responding to the treatment while Sean, our 007, can already be discharged.  Now, where can I put Sean for fostering so that he has at least another 2 weeks of proper care? Since Tara still has to be at the…

  • Wendy is sick

I just spoke to our vet, and Wendy is displaying signs of distemper.  She was tested negative on 20th December, but she is showing three out of the five clinical signs of distemper now.  These are the five clinical signs, according to our vet: 1.  Nasal discharge2.  Cough (respiratory)3.  Diarrhoea (intestinal)4.  Skin lesions5.  Seizures (neurological)…

  • Updates on the fivesome

I went to visit the fivesome at our vet’s today.  From our vet’s evaluation, the fittest of all is….Perky!  Imagine, when we brought her back, she was literally dying.  The shelter manager told me not to be surprised if by the time we came back from Bentong, she would have already died. We pumped her…

  • Roger, up for adoption

Roger will be returning from his week-long homestay (he was being fostered for a week) with Aloysius tomorrow.  We wish to record our thanks to Jennie who arranged for this fostering, and also to Aloysius, for letting Roger spend a week with his family and his two dogs.  I am sure Roger’s wellbeing has improved…

  • Jackie’s progress

We visited the fivesome today – Russell, Wendy, Perky, Sweetie and Jackie.  All five are doing well, according our vet.  We also brought them cooked chicken, but our vet prefers that they be “trained” to eat kibbles.  This is so that in the event they get adopted (that would be a case for rejoicing, for…

  • One of the two dogs died last night

The important thing is we tried, and we gave him a chance.  One of the two dogs Meiji brought to the vet in Ampang passed away late last night upon reaching her sanctuary.  Meiji has since buried the dog.  Sigh…that’s life, isn’t it?  Some make it, and some don’t.  Perhaps it was already too late…

  • Tara meets Sean

Tara seemed very down, and she stopped eating today.  So, it’s off to the vet’s again. Ainey visited Tara this evening, and Tara is now on two antibiotics and is put on drips (since she isn’t eating).  But when fed AD, she ate it all up (that’s a good sign). Tara at the vet’s. Tara,…

  • Jackie’s “mystery” is solved….

The day started with transporting Wendy to our panel vet because she had diarrhoea, and there was boarding space, we decided to take Perky and Sweetie out as well because both have not been vaccinated and they might pick up all kinds of diseases at the shelter.  Then, it was checking Jackie out.  She has…

  • Sean’s progress

Here’s Pravinn’s updates on Sean: According to the vet’s assistant, Sean’s recovering very well. He’s still coughing a little, though. Aside from that minor setback, Sean looked very excited to see me and Bala, the moment we walked in. We fed him some rice and meat which he seemed to enjoy thoroughly. If his appetite…

  • Russell is doing well

I just received a call from our vet.  He told me that Russell is doing very well.  The diarrhoea has stopped, and the itch has reduced tremendously.  Russell can be discharged, but we have no fosterer.  The vet said Russell, being still so young, would make a lovely pet.  He also has the potential to…

  • Response to our plea

We applaud the efforts of Katie and her daughter, Jasmine, who, after reading our appeals to bring food for the Klang Dog Pound “inmates”, cooked a pail of food and brought it all the way to Klang to feed the poor dogs.  Despite not knowing the way to the pound, their sought help and found their…

  • It’s back to work today…

After a long “break” from school, it’s back to work again for me today, and I will not be able to run around for the animals as much as I would like to. We brought back a total of nine of the Klang rescued dogs here, either for treatment or to be adopted (Shaggy, Tara…

  • Mandy and family, to the rescue!

On 30th December, Mandy and her family helped rescue another four puppies from the pound and these puppies were handed over to MDDB.  Taking the trip to freedom and safety, on grandma’s lap. Rub-a-dub-dub!  This is Mandy’s brother. Aunty Eliza (Mandy’s mum) with one of the lucky puppies. All the four puppies were tested negative…
