You know who your friends are when…

Hi everyone.  Here are some photos taken just minutes ago to assure all my concerned friends that Cleo is safe and sound.  I got up at 5am this morning and she wasn’t around.  But that’s her habit, being female, she likes to roam, especially at night.

Cleo came back just now, at 6.30am and had her second breakfast.  Usually, she would have had one earlier, when my husband goes off on morning shift.

Yummzzz…(but see that small patch of bad skin on her body?)
And our heart-of-gold, Indy Jones, was again sitting on the pillar all morning watching out for Cleo and waiting for her to come back.  When Cleo came back, Indy came in too, and they both had breakfast together.  Cleo does not really appreciate all this as she is quite happy being a loner.  And she is quite fierce as well.  The only one person who can “tame” and soften her is perhaps her mum, Pole.  But Pole ignores her.  Gosh, what a complicated relationship!
And good old Bunny is down on the floor, having his second breakfast as well.  Bunny and Cow just had a big fight earlier on.  These things happen when you have so many cats under the same roof.
You know, I was frantically asking for help yesterday when Cleo went missing.  It’s time like these when you know who your true friends are, and sometimes, they are not even people whom you’ve known for a long time.
Over the past few months ever since I started AnimalCare, I’ve seen all kinds of human behaviour, which, unfortunately, makes me rather sad.
There are those who are only nice when they need your help, but when you ask them for help, they either ignore you or turn you down flat, without even offering the simplest form of assistance or even a kind word.
Then, there are those who have already got your help, but badmouth you behind your back.  Thank goodness, this breed is quite rare in my circle.
There are also some who would only answer text messages and emails which are beneficial to them, but when you need help, they plainly ignore your text messages and emails.  It’s a bit difficult for me to comprehend the mentality of such humans, really.  HOW can anyone be so stone-cold?
But then, there are those who would rally behind you, offer you MORE than what you ask for.  These are the one whom you could call up any time of the day, even in the middle of the night, knowing they would not mind and they would go that extra mile to help you because they care.
On hindsight, while I am truly thankful to the last category of people, ie. the true friends, I should also be thankful to the not-so-true ones because they serve to remind me that life and humanity is far from being perfect, and these people are there to remind me NEVER to be like them because it hurts.  It is just not right.
It takes all kinds to make this world, and everyone who comes into your life comes with a purpose – to help you or to teach you lessons about life.  And in doing so, you become a better person, somehow.
Thank you, Terry, Li Lian, Alicia, and everyone who had responded in my hour of need.
