It’s been a long time since I last visited PAWS, so I dropped in for a visit today.
What greeted me right at the entrance was this forlorn-looking puppy (photo below). Apparently, he had been surrendered.
Gosh, it really broke my heart. He was so tiny….and he looked so, so sad….
Poor little thing…he looked so lonely and lost.
This puppy had also been surrendered.
Being Saturday, there were quite a number of volunteers and many were teenagers too.
The teenagers taking the shelter dogs for walks.
I spoke to Agnes, the assistant manager, and she told me that many owners surrender their pets to the shelter. It’s a very sad thing. Sometimes, the dogs die of depression after a week. They miss their families and homes so much, they refuse to eat even though the shelter volunteers and workers take them for walks, etc. And after a week or so, they just die.
Isn’t this heart-wrenching?
If you wish to own a pet dog or cat, please drop in at PAWS or your neighbourhood animal shelter. Don’t buy. Adopt. There are many dogs and cats looking for a second chance to be loved and cared for. Please give them that chance.
P.S. If you wish to adopt that sad-looking brown puppy, he is right at the entrance. He’s newly surrendered and he’d just been vaccinated this morning. Please help him look for a home. And also, all his friends at the shelter…

I'm sorry, I'm not familiar with that part of the country. You could try googling it. Maybe the local SPCA?

When would our people understand? There are lots of them still advertising for sale of pups, some reaching the range of RM1,000++.
Why not they put their tiny brains to better use to earn a living. They are simply cheapskates and will ONLY go to HELL.
Please, in the name of GOD, help these homeless poor animals.
