A canine friend at my public talk!

Kar Ven is back for the holidays and he asked me yesterday if he could attend my next public talk.  It so happened that I was giving a talk this morning at the Buddhist Gem Fellowship down in PJ and it was an awareness talk on “How to help the underprivileged street animals”.

Coincidentally too, Kar Ven had planned on taking his dog, Buster, for a run in PJ, so he asked if he could bring Buster to the talk.

Of course he can.  I don’t see why not, but out of courtesy I asked the organiser and to my delight, he said “I don’t see any problem as long as Buster doesn’t frighten the children.”

So, for the first time, I had a canine friend at my public talk.  I’ve had feline friends before in previous talks, but this is a first….

Buster was so, so well-behaved and sat through it all.
What a good boy!

Thank you for coming, Buster!
It’s was wonderful having you in the audience.
Buster is now officially the centre’s first canine visitor.  Their first feline visitor was Joanie the cat.  I had to bring Joanie straight from the hospital to the centre as I had to discharge her and rush there to deliver a talk.

Thanks for having him, Dr. Chan! He's still grieving for our other pet, Rusky and it's lovely to see him out and about. He was exhausted after that morning :). Also, hope it was good he was there as Buster came to us from the streets and he's a shining example of adopting strays. Your pictures made my day!
