I was awaken this morning by loud mewing from downstairs.
It was Diva, of course.
Last night, she had already learnt how to squeeze out from the edge of the cage door (many kittens soon discover this), so I tied a yellow ribbon to secure the door to the bars of the cage and that took care of that.
Diva was quite unhappy about being caged. She wanted to walk about the dining and living room. So, I let her walk around until almost 1.30am.
This morning, she ate on her own, from only from my hand again. It took some coaxing to get her started. I’m sure her appetite will improve once she defecates (an event we are all still waiting for with bated breath!).
Again, after breakfast, she refused to get back into her cage, making a racket that only tiny kittens do when making demands (!), so I let her walk about again.
This time, she knew where to go – to the hi-fi set, because that’s where it is warm and nice and cozy. So, she snuggled up next to the hi-fi set and mewed loudly to tell me so.
She must be quite smart in that when I start look for her (she knows it), she will mew loudly to let me know where she is. Aren’t animals just so, so incredibly smart? It only takes barely a day, and they know what is going on. They know who to trust, who to be careful of, etc.
And Diva has this incredibly coo-ing mew, like that of a bird’s. She goes “kroooo, krooo….” even while she is eating. It is almost like she is saying, “Oh, I like this food, I like this food!”
Tabs was very curious…
But not very friendly, though. https://travelwithgirls.com/. Tabs hissed. Diva did not.
I thought I was the baby of the family?
This new baby is just staying for the day, Tabs.
Very photogenic, don’t you agree?
Indy saying “hi”, and also hissing.
I’m up for adoption, after my first vaccination.
At least, that’s what I overheard these humans say.
Anyone wants me?

Diva…perfect name 🙂 I would like to see her again since she hissed at me the first time, it would be nice to get a greeting with a purr 🙂
Btw,Dr Chan, yesterday after I left your place, was on federal Highway heading to KL, was just passing by KGNS and my cabby spotted a Siamese cat lying on the fast lane on the busy road. we slowed down a bit, thinking we could grab him, but the cars at the back as usual, were in a rush. we did managed to stop but we realised we was already dead and we were on the other side of the road not knowing how to cross the road:(
What surprised me was, his body was still intact, he was on the fastest lane, he had a collar on with a bell. There wasn’t any housing near the area except the golf club..but then the side walls were too high for a cat to jump and to even come to the fast lane without getting hit? I felt so bad for him, he was just lying there as if sleeping and i left with a heavy heart
Poor, poor cat…I feel so sad when I see such things, too. I’ve lost 3 cats on the road as well. That is why in my new place now, all my cats are confined. I would like to think Bunny’s Place has enough space for everyone. After all, people in Hong Kong have less space per head in their high-rise apartments!
Love Diva–she is so adorable! And doesn’t her name suit her so well? Wish that you would be fostering her for longer (although I know that’s not really possible! Lol) so that we can continue to see photos of her!
