Thank you very much, everyone, for your prayers and good wishes for Bobby. There was no seizure this morning and he was fine when I returned home from work.
I think you know what it is like, when you return from work, walk in and peep into the room with bated breath to see if Bobby is still okay and you’re relieved to find him standing up and sniffing around the room!
I am very sure it is all due to your prayers and kind wishes because Bobby actually perked up after I wrote that blog post to say he was having seizures. That’s when all your messages came in. Thank you very much, everyone. I’m sure Bobby thanks all of you too, somehow.
It also took a lot of mental strength to still man the booth at the PetWorld event for three days, not knowing how Bobby was faring at home. I was checking my phone for messages from home. Luckily my husband was at home on Saturday and Sunday. On Saturday, Bobby threw up all his food but on Sunday, my husband managed to feed him two cans of catfood. He wasn’t sure what Bobby ate, so catfood it was. And Bobby polished it all up!
Bobby after lunch this afternoon.
Baggy is looking after Uncle Bobby.
Baggy is here, Uncle Bobby.
He seems to have very good appetite today.
After his lunch, he wanted more, so I offered some kibbles and he ate it all up.
The only thing is he keeps turning clockwise, so I had to move the bowl along with him.
He would eat, look up and turn clockwise, then he could not find the bowl anymore, so I had to stay close and move the bowl along. Even when I hand-fed him, he kept turning clockwise, so I had to move too, or re-position him again.
We’re all watching over Uncle Bobby.
Remember he was covered with saliva during the two seizures? I managed to give him a bath today, and this was after the bath. That’s Tiger making sure Uncle Bobby is alright.
It’s quite touching seeing how the cats are trying their best to help too. After all, Bobby looked after everyone of them, along with countless others whom I’ve fostered.
I’m trying to get an appointment for acupuncture for Bobby this week. Hopefully there is a slot available.
Siti Azura shared this (below) in an email. I have her permission to publish it as I felt the poem is very heartfelt and it might help others who are facing a similar situation. Thank you very much, Azura. And thank you everyone for your emails and comments – it has been so helpful to know Bobby has your kind thoughts and that he is not alone.
Dear Dr Chan,
So concerned about Bobby,
I just could not personally share my sad feeling in your comment space. I hope Bobby will always be strong. I have been always following updates about your adorable brood. I pray for Bobby.“Loving God, You promised foxes their dens and birds their nests, care also for Bobby as he struggles with his old day age. Hold him close, and be with the vet and all who care for bobby. May God comfort you and your furbaby bobby, and let the healing light of His love shine now and always.”
Regards,
Azura
