My son flew to Haneda International Airport recently and visited Shibuya train station. That’s the very train station that loyal Hachiko waited for his master for many, many years.
Sobs, I know…I cried buckets after watching Richard Gere’s movie. I don’t think I have ever cried as much after watching any movie in my entire life because I remember still crying buckets when I went to sleep that day.
Anyway, my son said the whole town is abuzz with Hachiko momentos.
Here are some photos that he took:
Hachiko, I would bow before thee.
A Hachiko bus!
Hachiko caricatures are everywhere to commemorate this great dog.

(Warning: You WILL cry, even reading this short Wikipedia write-up, so get ready your tissues. I did…sobs. But you cannot not know about this great dog, so brave yourself and please read it. Then, go hug your pet for comfort. I’m hugging Tabs now. Sobs…)

Sobs…(tissues needed).
I cried too after watching the movie. I refuse to watch it again!
Yes, cannot bear to watch it again….
And I coward me, refuse to even watch it. It’ll be too heartbreaking.
No, that was smart, actually. I refused to watch War Horse.
Yes, not watching War Horse too!
I cried buckets in the cinema then and I remember even the guys watching the movie were sniffing and wiping the tears from their eyes with hankies and tissue. The loyalty and devotion of beautiful Hachiko moved the heart deeply, I always cry when I watch it again.
I have a soft heart for all these shows!! SOB-SOB-SOB big time. I stop watching them all after Quill – the Labrador as guide for the blind. Also a Japanese made movie. That is why I chose not to watch Hachiko and whatever animal related genre.
I cried when I read Marley and Me (way before the movie come about). So if I ‘read crying’, I’ll ‘watch crying’ even more.
I feel you all!! *sniff* *sniff*
