Tiger’s “robes”

Tiger’s tshirts weren’t wide enough at the flank to cover all his lesions, so I added a “skirt” to two of them. This is just a temporary addition for the current needs.

I just sewed a piece of flap to the back of the tshirt.

It still cannot cover all the lesions because there are some on his lower thigh and near his genitals, but at least it covers the main area where most of the lesions are.

Tiger was very uncomfortable with the e-collar. He didn’t even dare put his head down to rest, so most of the time, his head was up…for hours. He hardly slept at all. I figured this was probably counter-productive. On the one hand, it prevented him from biting and licking the lesions, but on the other hand, he hardly rested at all and he was visibly stressed. This hampers the healing process. Everyone needs rest.

I also noticed that whenever I took the e-collar off, Tiger would lick feverishly and furiously for HOURS. He would also groom excessively.

So, I decided a compromise might be better for him – wear the “robe”. It cannot cover all the lesions, but it covers most of them.

At least he is able to sleep and rest peacefully now.

And he also doesn’t lick furiously anymore.

One day at a time. We improvise as we go along.

And Chen shared this: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=ObE6hlwn7_U&feature=youtu.be  It is an innovative idea, but for now, I’ll just make do with these “robes”!

It’s a very good idea by Auntie Chen actually-ngiao. Little Nut wore a baby onesie when she was little too after she had her big booboo operation-ngiao. Though, Mama put it on correct way on so Little Nut learnt that she could just walk her way out of the onesie whenever Mama wasn’t looking. :3
