This evening, Ming-Yi was playing with Cow on her lap and she noticed a blood stain on her pants.
Oh oh, it looked like Cow has an anal sac wound…again.
He had it in Dec 2015: https://animalcare.my/2015/12/08/cows-anal-sac-story/
And Bunny had an anal wound in June 2016: https://animalcare.my/2016/06/21/bunnys-anal-wound-and-partial-blindness/
Luckily I was able to refer to the blogposts and could administer first aid immediately.

With some difficulty and much protest, I managed to put him on the e-collar, then we cleaned the wound with hibiscrub and applied povidone iodine on it. That would have to do for now.

That’s the wound. It didn’t look too deep, though.
The last time Cow had it, the wound recovered without having to sedate him for a proper cleaning. He was put on antibiotics since it was already an open wound.
We’ll continue cleaning the wound and see how it goes by Monday, whether a visit to the vet is warranted. Or whether antibiotics is needed.
Cow, Cow, Cow…an anal sac wound…again??

How do they get injuries on their bum bums in the first place?
Is there a cat going around butt attacking fellow cats?
If it’s an anal sac rupture (which it was in 2015), then it’s due to the sac getting impacted and it just ruptures. If it’s an injury…well, it must be the Cow-factor, I guess! Cow is always getting into fights and sometimes this happens when we are not home. If he bullies Bunny, Cow will always win, but if he bullies Indy, Indy will fight back. That’s what happened to Cow’s eye the last time he bullied Indy, remember that epic case?
