  • Neutering aid for 1 dog in Balakong (Tong Yut Fun’s) & Updates

We have fully sponsored RM200 for the spaying of this dog. The dog was also discovered to have mild TVT during the neutering procedure, was treated and has recovered now. We are also providing an aid for her TVT treatment (next post, please). Ms Tong does her CNRM work with Mr Wong Woi Kan. Updates…

  • Happy Meatless Monday!

These delectable vegetarian dishes are from Ayaana at Nu Empire in Subang Jaya. Their food is made from dhal and has no preservatives. All family recipes. We wanted a light meal last Saturday and the manager recommended idlly and utthapam. The Idlly is a slightly savoury dhal cake. The Utthapam is a dhal pancake topped…

  • No entry, says Indy

Indy is still not happy with the Monsters.  Ginger and the Monsters wanted to go over to Bunny’s Place this morning. But Indy said NO. And from the sound of his part-growl-part-wail, I know he means no. So it’s a “No” for this morning. I didn’t want to end up with casualties again. Kai is…

  • The cats’ new litter boxes

When it comes to cat litter (and this is Cat’s Best litter) vs natural soil, natural soil wins for everyone except Tabs. Tabs is perhaps the only cat who must use the litter box with commercial cat litter. The rest of them, if given a choice, prefers natural soil and the grass. So, over at…

  • Minnie still says no

Today I sprinkled just a teeny weeny bit of Maximum Pro GI powder and hid it in the raw food, but Minnie knew. Luckily her vomiting episode was just a one-off incident which didn’t need anything. But sooner or later, it might come a day where she needs to be fed medication and I have…

  • The Blondies’ breakfast today

Only Indra ate. Kai and Akira would rather play. After a few minutes, I managed to persuade Kai to eat. Akira said no. Who needs to eat? Still playing. I wonder where she gets all her energy from. Finally I had to use the kibble trick to get her to eat. She ate all the…

  • Updates on WinWin (from Survivor Shelter)

Ms Ong took WinWin for her bi-weekly check-up today and there’s good news! WinWin’s blood PCV has risen to 30%! She is also very active now. Her Cyclosporine (Sandimmum Neoral) dosage is now reduced from 4 tablets to 3. It’s all very good!

  • The biggest gangster in Ginger’s Catio

Guess who it is… No, it’s not Robin anymore. He’s been dethroned. It’s this guy. SMURFY Yes, Smurfy is the all-time biggest gangster in Ginger’s Catio now. And to think that previously, he was so timid, right? So timid until I blamed myself for naming him “Smurfy” after those small cute little blue creatures called…

  • Tabs and Riley’s portraits

Again, I don’t want to leave them out of the limelight! Here’s…..Tabs and Riley! Tabs and her classic crossed paws. Very princessy! Playful Riley! Tabs’ new rattan chair. Actually, it’s husband’s, but….Tabs claimed it. So it’s officially hers now!

  • The Music Lives On (thank you, Pastorale Conservatoire of Music!)

Hear ye, Hear ye! Date & Time: 19th November 2023 (5pm) Venue: The KL & Selangor Chinese Assembly Hall Pastorale Conservatoire of Music held concerts in support of AnimalCare in 2012 and again in 2016. And it’s back to our turn again this year! We would like to express our utmost and heartfelt thanks to…

  • How to make Minnie eat her probiotics?

Minnie and Samantha are the untouchables in our clan of 18 cats. I can even touch Misty nowadays, but not Minnie or Samantha. The other day, during the housecall to vaccinate the Monsters, Minnie couldn’t be caught, so she had to skip her annual booster. Yesterday, Minnie vomited her food, so I have two medicine…

  • There’s no letting go from Indy

Since Cow Mau was injured, Indy has been mounting non-stop war cry fights several times a day through whatever hole he can find along Stargate and the entire gate. Who goes there??? The culprits from the Monsters’ clan would be Smurfy, Robin and Rey. Even Rey has become a gangster now. It’s pretty bad when…

  • Feeding Kai and Akira

Feeding Indra is a breeze. She is a food guzzler. But feeding Kai and Akira is a totally different story. They would rather play than eat. So in order to feed them, there is an SOP to follow. First, you must let them play. I think the zooming around stimulates and works up an appetite.…

  • Happy Meatless Friday with homemade minestrone soup

I was watching the documentary, Live to 100: Secret of the Blue Zones, on Netflix. It is extremely inspiring how the people in these Blue Zones remaining healthy, happy and active right up to their 90s and past 100. We know the renowned Blue Zones as Okinawa, Sardinia and Ikaria (and a few more). The…

  • The Monsters get a brief crossover today

Minnie vomited her breakfast out this morning, so I had to let them crossover to eat some grass. Under heavily-armed surveillance. The moment I heard some growling, everyone got carted back to Ginger’s Catio. Meanwhile, I forgot to mention that day when I took Cow Mau to our regular vet with Akira. The vet found…
