Cleo is home!!! (blood pressure back up)

The vet texted this morning to say Cleo was very talkative (mewing a lot to greet everyone!) and the best news ever – her blood pressure is back up to 100!! This is the greatest relief of the day!

So Cleo could already come home! Yay!

This photo was sent by the vet first thing after the clinic opened. We immediately drove to the clinic.

The IV-port has been removed!

We are going home today, Cleo! The vet said she had been making a lot of noise, probably saying that she wants to go home!

We are HOME!!

Home is where the heart is!

Getting some sunshine after being away for 72 hours!

Cleo came home with a host of medication and supplements, though. Wish me luck in feeding them to her!

Morning
Before food:
Famotidine – 0.3ml (gastric)
Subcut 175ml
After food:
Renal-N – 1 scoop
Iron supplement 1ml
Semintra – 3 kg reading – for proteinuria and high blood
Metrogyl (8 days) – she has some infection somewhere
Tranexamic acid – 1 capsule (antifibrinolytic agent – to stop bleeding) (5 days)
Sucralfate (3 days) – to coat the stomach lining

Methycobal 1 tablet (B-12)
Amlodipine (high blood)
Gabapentin (transdermal) 0.15ml – painkiller and comfort-giverEvening
Before food:
Famotidine – 0.3ml (gastric)
After food:
Renal-N – 1 scoop
Clopidogrel (blood thinner)
Metrogyl (8 days)
Tranexamic acid – 1 capsule (antifibrinolytic agent) (5 days)
Sucralfate (3 days)

Gabapentin (transdermal) 0.15ml

The vet says Cleo does much better with the transdermal Gabapentin is given twice a day, so I shall definitely do this. This is one of the key medicine in palliative care – it makes the patient more comfortable and numbs pain.

The medication in blue (above) are not for the long term, so that’s a relief!

The rest have to be given as supportive treatment to help Cleo feel better. The Amlodipine has been adjusted back to 1/8th of a tablet. I am to monitor Cleo’s demeanour. If she feels sluggish, then I can take her back to get her blood pressure checked and readjust the high blood medicines.

We will be together with Cleo on this journey. Every moment matters. That is all that matters.

Cleo is home!!!

Thank you so much to all friends who have been rooting for Cleo! We are very grateful for your kindness.
