Mycoplasma infection (a zoonotic bacterial pneumonia)

Who has mycoplasma pneumonia now?

Me. I have been having this persistent cough for weeks now. Seen the doctor three times. Tested negative for Covid-19, Influenza A and Influenza B. The cough wasn’t serious, but very phlegmy and just wouldn’t heal.

So this morning was my fourth visit to the doctor’s for the same complaint. I was also having chills for two days now. The doctor decided to do a blood test and it was discovered that I have mycoplasma pneumonia. It is a bacterial infection.

The worst thing is, it is zoonotic, which means it can spread from human to animal and vice versa.

Juno was suspected to have mycoplasma infection but that was on 1st October 2024. I couldn’t have got it from her. It’s too long ago.

The doctor said that being on drip with IV-medication would be more effective than oral medication since I was already on oral medicines for three rounds and that did not help at all.

So, I would have to go to the clinic twice a day for three days for the drip.

Meanwhile we’ve put Juno in Bunny’s Place to quarantine her from me. And we will probably put Riley there too. Tabs isn’t happy with the Blondies since she doesn’t like other cats. So Tabs will probably be in the Safehouse.
