The oh-so-familiar whines of the drama king, Gerald

Very early this morning, I heard the sounds of cat altercation. A white cat has been trying to enter our porch for some time now and Gerald had been fending him off, not physically but verbally. And luckily so too.

When I went out this morning, I saw Creamy fending off WhiteCat. Gerald was nowhere to be seen.

After helping Creamy chase off WhiteCat, I fed him and waited for Gerald but he did not turn up.

All morning, there were no signs of Gerald at all and I really started to worry if he might have been injured in any fight with WhiteCat.

The last time Gerald went missing for two days, he was injured and feverish when I finally found him under a car with puncture wounds. I simply do not have the mental energy to relive that experience again.

But there was nothing I could do except to wait.

Still no sign of him at noon. He seldom skipped any meals. I was really worried by then, but I hoped he was just sleeping it off somewhere. He usually comes for a late lunch at around 3pm.

It was only at 3.30pm that we finally heard the oh-so-familiar whining from the back of the house.

It was Gerald!! I quickly prepared his food. The trick with Gerald is, he cannot eat too much, he would vomit, that is why he needs to eat three times daily.

I’m really so glad you are okay, Gerald.

As much as his whining is annoying, it’s a small price to pay for knowing that he’s alright.
