It’s true what they say about pets – they are mind-readers. We’ve always known this fact.
Riley has demonstrated incredible mind-reading skills.
She knows when we wish to retire for the night to go upstairs. Our normal routine is to watch a tv series after dinner. We don’t really have a fixed time, as it depends on whether we are sleepy or not. Sometimes, we watch one episode, sometimes two, and on the rare occasion, even three, before we retire for the night.
But the uncanny thing is, Riley just knows when an episode has just ended, even before the music plays, and she will come to us and do her “gazelle” pose where she rises on her hind legs and rubs herself on us. That’s her pose for “it’s time to go to bed, let’s go upstairs”.
How she just knows this is beyond comprehension. It’s not a fixed time, it’s not any music, there is just no signal.
Riley is a mind-reader and a very skilful one at that!
