Ginger’s inflamed eye – off to the vet’s

Yesterday morning, I noticed that Ginger’s right eye was inflamed and had discharge. By evening, it became worse, so it was off to the vet’s.

The vet checked and said it’s due to a flu. Ginger already had a bit of nasal discharge as well. Both his eyes were checked and there was no ulcer in either of them.

The vet prescribed an antibiotic, Augmentin, a painkiller, Onsior (maximum 3 days only) and an eye ointment, Kloraxin. She said that if he improves, the Onsior can be stopped even after a day.

Ginger has also lost quite a bit of weight. Age is catching up.

This morning, I saw some improvement in the inflamed eye. However, Ginger doesn’t have much of an appetite. It took a lot of coaxing and different types of food before he would eat.

There is slight improvement in the inflamed eye.

Eating small frequent meals.

He’s isolating himself to take long naps, which is good for recovery.

Get well soon, Ginger.
